Hey Everyone! We're transferring these Platform Release Notes over to an "In App" view, allowing you to see relevant Releases while using the Web Based Bustle Application. We will cease publishing the notes here at the end of September 2024, moving over to the In App Announcements in the same month.





SEPTEMBER 2024


Web Platform Enhancements:

Trip Sheet Improvements:  We’ve made improvements to the trip sheet process, especially for Bustle customers using subcontractors. Updates include streamlining the trip creation workflow and fixing bugs to enhance your experience. 


Handling Multiple Dangerous Goods in a Single Item Line: Ops users can now manage multiple Dangerous Goods (DG) items within a single package as item lines. This allows accurate recording of DG items with different groups and weights. The system auto-calculates total weights, validates inputs, and provides correction prompts. Users can select weight units (kg or liters), and the package is marked as "Mixed" when DGs are entered at the item level. This feature must be enabled in app settings, and adjustments have been made across booking forms, manifests, transport requests, and the driver app to support it. 


Customer Portal Manifest & Trip Tab Control: We’ve added a new feature that lets you control the visibility of the LH Jobs, Trip Sheets, and Manifest tabs in the customer portal. As an admin, you can now choose to hide or show these tabs based on your preferences, making it easier to display only the most relevant information to your customers. 

Ability to Copy Existing CNs on Customer Portal: We’ve added new functionality to simplify job duplication on the customer portal. Users can now "Duplicate" a job under the Active Job screen and "Rebook" a job under the Completed Job screen.

Enhanced Resource List for Transportation Planning Transportation planners now view detailed information when selecting resources for jobs. The resource list now displays key details such as Asset, Make, Model, Registration Date, and Registration. 


Automation of Rating and Invoicing Process with Leg Level Charging: We've introduced automation for rating and invoicing at the leg level, leading to a more granular breakdown of charges. Users now have the option to base invoicing on the master job information, which displays a concise job overview at the top, followed by detailed charge lines (e.g., Pickup, Line Haul, Delivery, Fuel Levy, Additional Charges). New settings also allow users to hide zero-value lines and group fuel levies by invoice, offering more control over how charges are presented.

Zone-Based Movements Optimization: We've optimized the performance of zone-based movements, significantly reducing the time it takes to redirect to Job Edit or update a zone job, ensuring a faster and more efficient experience.

Web Platform Enhancements:


Changes to Incomplete Jobs on a Runsheet: From now on, drivers will not be able to mark a run as complete if there are any incomplete Pickups or Deliveries associated with it. To successfully complete a run, all jobs must either be finished or removed by an admin user. Learn more here.

Run Label Character Limit: To align with business requirements, we have implemented a character limit for run labels. The run label is now restricted to a maximum of 50 characters, ensuring consistency and preventing issues with overly long labels across the platform.


Manifest Ordering:  We’ve just made it easier to manage your manifests with the new Manifest Ordering feature. Now, you can manually prioritise your manifest order directly from the Action column. This gives you full control and flexibility to organise jobs based on your operational priorities. Please click here to learn more

Indicate Manually Entered Addresses in Consignment Notes:  We have introduced a feature that clearly indicates when addresses are manually entered, rather than selected from the address book, while creating consignment notes. This enhancement allows both customers and internal users to easily identify and validate manually overridden addresses in job screens and job details, improving accuracy and efficiency in address management. PO Reference Date Filtering in Job Booking and Invoicing: We’ve improved PO reference filtering in job bookings and invoicing. POs will now display based on start or end dates that match the invoicing date range. POs with dates beyond the current date will be excluded, ensuring only relevant POs are shown.


NCR Enhancements: 

  • Custom NCR Labels & Subcategories: Organizations can now customize NCR labels and add subcategories to NCR types across portals.
  • Assign NCRs to Customer Portals: NCRs can now be assigned to customer portals for management, without affecting connected organizations.
  • Enhanced Issue Tracking: New custom fields (Department, Type, Status, Summary) allow better categorization and management of NCRs.
  • Edit NCRs: Users can now edit existing NCRs and associate them with specific clients using the new Customer field.
  • Visibility Controls: Sensitive information (e.g., descriptions, notes) can be restricted to authorized users for confidentiality.
  • NCR Permissions Management: Admins can create NCR roles and assign them to users, controlling who can view, add, update, or delete NCRs.


Partial PO Number Search for CNs: We've introduced the ability to search Consignment Notes (CNs) using partial Purchase Order (PO) numbers. This enhancement allows for quicker and more flexible searches, improving efficiency in locating relevant CNs.


Addition of "Job Due Date" Column  on Active job screen: We have added a new "Job Due Date" column to the Active Jobs table under in the Zone Only module. This column displays the due date for each job, improving job tracking and deadline management.

Job Priority Adjustment on Manifest. The system now ensures that the last job is always positioned last on while ordering manifest maintaining its priority number .


Indication of Manually Entered Addresses in Consignment Notes: We’ve added a feature to clearly indicate addresses manually entered versus those selected from the address book in consignment notes. 

Enhanced QR Scanner Error Messaging: Error messages from the QR scanner now specify the reason for invalidity. It clearly state the specific issue when a QR code is invalid. 


Reinstate Completed Runs: You can now revert a completed run to Active status to add or remove jobs and correct errors.

Exclude GST" Checkbox option in Customer Rate Card: A checkbox labelled "Exclude GST" is now available in the Customer Rate Card setup form so that when it's calculated in invoicing, it doesn't include GST in the total. Default state is set unchecked.

Due Date and Time in Runsheet Modal: The Assigned Jobs and Available Jobs tabs in the Runsheet modal now display Due Date and Due Time for each job.
 

Improved Font Size on Manifest PDF: Font size on the manifest PDF has been increased for clearer display of pallets and spacing.

Duplicate/Rebook Jobs for Customer Portal: Customer portal users can now duplicate or rebook jobs with the same parameters via the Duplicate button under Active Jobs and Rebook under Completed Jobs.

Service Type Display on Runs Planning: The Service Type is now visible in the Available Jobs and Assigned Jobs tabs within the Runs Planning section, providing clearer job details for easier planning and assignment.

Pallet Count Display for Active Jobs: For pallet-enabled organizations, the Active Jobs tab now displays the Total Pallet Count and Total Pallet Spaces when one or more jobs are selected. This feature is available for organizations with Pallet Spaces enabled in their app settings, helping users track pallet capacity more effectively.

Web Platform Enhancements:

Optimized POD Image Attachment Size: We have reduced the size of POD images to kilobytes (KB) without compromising on quality, allowing multiple images to be attached and sent via email more efficiently. This enhancement resolves previous issues with large attachments exceeding size limits, ensuring smoother delivery of POD emails to Finance customers.

New Pickup and Delivery Scanning Features:  Drivers can now scan for Pickups and Deliveries in the app, including P2P movements. This feature supports job splitting and allows drivers to assign scanned jobs to their active run or "Other Jobs" if no run is active. After scanning, drivers can mark jobs as picked up or delivered and capture signatures via sign-on-glass. Errors will appear if the respective leg is already completed. 

Invoice Presentation Improvement: We have completed a major overhaul of our invoice PDF design. The updated version is much cleaner and includes additional information. We have added some lines to separate the information so users can clearly see the related sections, such as Job Date, Job Reference, Job Description, Quantities, and Job Pricing. Enhanced DG Booking with Dropdowns and Auto-Population: We've updated the DG booking process to allow users to select UN numbers from a dropdown. Once selected, related fields like shipping name, class, sub-class, and packaging group are auto-populated, but can still be edited. Changing the UN number will re-populate these fields. Organizations with pre-populated UN tables will enforce the same rules for both internal users and customer portals. Validation of key fields will occur when "Mixed Dangerous Goods" is not selected, ensuring accuracy in bookings.

POD Email Attachments: Images with Finance Customer Flag: We have added the ability to attach images to Proof of Delivery (POD) emails. To enable this feature, ensure turn on flag for finance customer.

Enhancements in Runs tile for Drivers: The Runs tile has been removed from the Jobs hub for drivers. Drivers now only see the Run sheets tile, directing them to the run sheets table without additional navigation tabs. Ops users will experience no changes and retain full access to all runs navigation and features.


Consignment Note Verification and Status Indication: Consignment notes (CN) booked via Portal or API will now display a distinct sign or color code on the "My Jobs" screen. They will be marked as "Draft" for easy identification and verification. Users can configure the "Draft" color, update CN details, and change the status once verified. A booking source indicator (Portal/API) can also be enabled in app settings for added clarity. 

Note: Enabled the feature "Highlight jobs booked by portal, API and ingestions" under App Settings. 


Enable Drivers to Choose Destinations for Trip Legs (Line-Haul Jobs) : Drivers using the mobile app can now choose their preferred destinations for Trip legs in line-haul jobs. This feature, disabled by default, can be activated via the app settings. When enabled, drivers can select from available destinations, and their trip sheet will be updated to reflect the new delivery sequence. The operations team will receive real-time updates on these changes. If the setting remains off, the default job sequence is used. Web Platform Enhancements:

    

Manifest PDF: We undertook a major revamp to our Manifest PDF. The new design looks much neater with Dangerous Goods shown always to the top section of the Manifest, and sorting by Customer/Sender/Receiver applied per desired sort order. Watch this video to see the latest changes to the Manifest PDF.


Finance Module Access: Long term users of Bustle will be familiar with the PIN popup that presents when trying to access the Finance Module. We added a User Permission, allowing specific User Groups to bypass this PIN popup, making it easier for designated users to access the Finance section. Learn more here.


New Trip Sheet - Address Book Improvements: Customer feedback informed us that creating a new Trip was tedious when all of the addresses in the Address Book was displayed in the "Source" and "Destination" views of the new trip sheet work flow. Now, Coordinators will be shown Address Book records that have been designated with the "Depot" or "Linehaul Site" options. Legacy Manifest: We removed access to the redundant Manifesting page, allowing users to access only the current Manifest tab. This will ensure we maintain and update the one Manifest work flow only. 


Audit Logging: We expanded the logging of user based actions across Manifests and Invoicing, allowing our customers to review changes.


Sender & Receiver Columns: Showing the Sender and Receiver of a freight movement can help Coordinator's plan and schedule their jobs. We added the Sender and Receiver as two new column options, available for each Operations User under their Jobs Settings (Columns).Learn more here.


Master Status: As a job progresses through the various stages of its lifecycle, the Master Job (record) will now show the current leg's status. This helps to see where a job is up to, by looking only to the Master job status.


Futile Pickups: Customers informed us that some pickups were moving to the Completed Jobs screen upon a Futile report. We adjusted the workflow to keep the job Active, until the Coordinator would Complete, Cancel or Reallocate or Progress the job.


Run Planning: Customers wanted to create Transport Request PDF's based on their Run cycle for Pickup or Delivery. This allows depot loading and unloading teams to work more efficiently and to understand what depot items to plan and prioritise. In addition, we added the feature for users to Bulk Print of Runs, making the process of printing off Run sheets faster and more efficient for Run Planners. 


Customer PO Management for Bookings We’ve improved the booking process by allowing users to store and manage multiple Purchase Order (PO) numbers on customer cards. When creating a booking, users can select from a dropdown of POs or enter a PO as free text if none are available. Additionally, POs can be edited or added to a job after it’s been booked, enhancing flexibility and accuracy in PO management.
Note: There is settings under App Settings " Show revenue/cost centre options in the booking form" needs to be enabled.

Web Platform Enhancements:


Manifest Ordering by Sender: Customers wanted the ability to Order their Manifests by Sender information. We added a new app setting under Organisation, to allow Manifests to be ordered accordingly.


Compulsory Announcements: We made some adjustments to how Compulsory Announcements were being delivered. Now, if any specific driver is selected for an Announcement, and the Announcement is set to Compulsory, the Announcement must be acknowledged by the Driver as being seen.


Package Templates: We introduced an exciting new and in demand feature called Package Templates. Here, our customers can create templates of regularly moved freight profiles, giving explicit weight and dims for each package, allowing Freight Coordinators to quickly select the Package Template when booking jobs, which increases accuracy and decreases time in booking a new consignment.


Non Conformance Reporting: We started work on an overhaul of our Non Conformance (NCR) module. As Bustle has grown, so have the Safety and Compliance needs of our Customers. Stay tuned over the coming months for more exciting updates as we progressively release updates to the NCR module.

Web Platform Enhancements:

    

Removing a Linehaul Job from a Manifest We have revised the removal process for Linehaul jobs from a Manifest labelled as "Ready," ensuring that the job becomes available again in the active LH Tab. 


     EWD fatigue timeline: We improved visual layout of various items displayed on the drivers fatigue graphs.


Customer Portal Map: We've enhanced the Portals so that when a Finance customer logs into their customer portal, they'll only see jobs specific to their account showing on their maps related to their specific account, rather than all active jobs assigned to specific assets. 


Linehaul Manifesting Updates: We've made it easier to add jobs to a Manifest.  Previously, there was limited option to search the Linehaul job by reference only, now there is Linehaul job table display which makes it easier to add the jobs into manifest.  


Add band code and quantities in the invoicing screen: We made it easier for Km based rate cards to display required information on the invoicing page.


Master Job Notes: We resolved a problem of note duplication on the Master Job.


'Picked Up' Status Updates: We patched an issue where Job Details could not be updated once the Driver had updated their consignment status to "Picked Up". 


Cubic Weight Correction: The cubic weight and total cubic weight were being calculated incorrectly, but they are now computed correctly.


Senders Labels on CSV Job Ingestion: We've updated the CSV import process for jobs to ensure that the Sender of the freight receives their freight labels associated with the imported jobs. 


Mobile App Version 3.1.8:  


Driver Completed Forms:  Drivers should now be able to see their completed forms such as Take 5, vehicle inspection form etc. 


Android App: We extended functionality on the Android app, allowing the Job Detail panel to be displayed on bulk select of multiple Consignments. 

    

Exit Time Correction:  Previously, the exit time for bulk consignments was recorded for only one consignment, while the rest were receiving the current time. This issue has been rectified, and now the exit time applies to all consignments as completed time. 



March 2024


Web Platform Enhancements: 


Pickup & Delivery Times: We adjusted the way times are displayed within Bustle. Now, the displayed times in the Jobs Booking screen displays the time zone for the applicable Pickup or Delivery State. Learn more here.


Customer - Contractor compliance records: We patched an issue where Business Compliance records were hidden from the Customer's Organization.


Adding a Linehaul Leg to Existing Manifest: We made it easier for a Linehaul leg to be added to an existing manifest.


New Manifest Workflow: We removed the requirement to add a time for Manifests. This ensures the new manifest workflow is quicker for our Customer Coordinator's.


Invoice PDF Tidy up:  Customers reported that their invoices were not presenting in a neat and tidy manner. We removed the duplication of Purchase Order numbers, enabled the sorting of Invoices by Job Invoice Price and fixed fixed an issue with the Invoice PDF's displaying the same "Source" and "Destination" information.


Job Author Issue: We patched an issue on some of our Job Movement Types, where the originating author of the job was removed. 


February 2024


Web Platform Enhancements: 


Customer Portal Stop Credit: We expanded the Stop Credit for Finance Customer Portals to ensure a Finance Customer using a Portal is unable to book new consignments.


Deactivated Drivers: We added functionality for deactivated drivers to be seen in the Completed Jobs screen. This allows our customers to still find jobs where a previously employed driver was assigned to the job.


Invoice Updates: Customer feedback informed us that some invoices presented in an untidy state, where there were many $0 charge items. We added functionality to now allow Item descriptions to remain on invoices, but hide the associated $0 value.  Learn more here.


Dangerous Goods Data Entry Requirements for New/Existing Consignments:

- We updated the Dangerous Goods required fields for new and existing consignment creation, to ensure the Dangerous Goods information now has more Required information to make the booking. Quantity and Weight have been updated to now be required information. 


Manifest PDF:

- Customer feedback requested for Manifest Labels within the Bustle Manifest page should also be on the Manifest PDF. We've updated the PDF to now show this label.

Web Platform Enhancements: 


Site Exit Time: Adding a Site Exit Time allows drivers on a P2P job, to capture the time they exit a Site. This time will help some of our customers to capture the difference in time between Delivery and Site Exit.  Learn more here.


Zone Improvements: Adding a new zone (by Geofence) now displays previously added Geofence Zones. This assists Organizations to not set a new Zone which crosses over into existing zones.


NCR Improvements: Adding a note to an NCR now alerts the Responsible Person. This will allow the internal workflows of moving an NCR through its various required stages, to be faster and more efficient.


Help Centre: Our team have been working hard, building the first version of our Knowledge Base. These articles will assist new users to better understand how to perform tasks within the Bustle web platform. The Knowledge Base will be ever growing and improving, so be sure to check back regularly.


Completed Jobs (POD's) Page: We made the loading time of the Completed Jobs page faster. Learn more here.

At Depot Status: Functionality to allow Coordinators and Supervisors to view Consignments (Jobs) that are "At Depot" has been improved. Learn more here.

Jobs Module: We separated the "Manifesting" page into its two logical components of "LH Jobs" and "Manifests". This allows more visibility of each available unmanifested Linehaul Job, as well as each Manifest. We left the legacy page in place for those who need time to adjust to the new layout.

Mobile App: 

Version 3.1.7: This version introduced ability for Organizations to make Pickup Photos Mandatory for Drivers. Learn more here.

Version 3.1.6: We released Android version 3.1.6, fixing bugs introduced when the Android OS is updated to version 13 or higher. This version also fixes a mandatory file upload issue that drivers experienced for some forms. 

Welcome back: We're back! 2024 will be an exciting year at Bustle. Our team is growing and with it, the Bustle ecosystem also matures and grows with it. We look forward to bring you updates throughout the year and supporting your business.

Job Legging Optimization: Optimizing single leg jobs. Freight Codes now appear on Master and individual legs.

Adding Jobs to a Run: We've introduced the ability to add jobs to a selected Run by utilising a Popup. This allows adding specific jobs to a run to be easier and more user friendly. Learn more here (Correct article needed).

Trip Sheet Optimization: We improved the user experience of Departure and Arrival Time displaying on Trip sheets when the user clicks through the Job legs.

Manifesting Page UI Improvements: We reviewed the Manifesting page and made minor changes, allowing the user to recognise date fields in line with other sections of the platform.

Job Movements Template: We added a template for Job Movements, allowing planning of movements to be more fluid and efficient.

User Feedback Survey: As part of our continuous improvement and to understand what our customers are saying, we added a survey to the Online Platform. We're receiving valuable and helpful feedback which will form our platform release strategy into 2024.

Android & iOS App Updates: We added a number of feature updates to our mobile platform including the ability for our drivers to Select All (jobs) on their My Jobs screen.

Error Handling: We expanded the Error Handling capability of the online platform, allowing us to capture, review and handle a broader spectrum of possible Errors.


November 2023


UI Improvements: We've made it clearer for the user to identify specific buttons on the Manifest Page. Service Types are now presented in Alphabetical order on the Job Booking page, making it easier to find and select the correct Service Type. We improved the User Layout and Experience of the Address Book page, allowing users that have different size screens, to see all of the buttons clearly.

Invoice Email "From" Address: We changed the From Address on emails being sent from Bustle. This now appears to your clients as "noreply@bustle.com.au" as opposed to an email originating from your email. This assists with email being flagged as Spam or blocked by more sophisticated email servers.

CSV Export & Ingestion Optimization: We improved a number of CSV export & import processes, making it more efficient, reliable and faster for the user.

Scanning to Job: Scanning to Job now includes alerts to the user if the Job has previously been cancelled. 

Geofence Report: Geofence Report now includes Sub Contractors, giving a full view of al Drivers.

Webhooks: We expanded the payload of some of our Webhooks to include additional information, useful for various Integrated Systems. 

Android & iOS App Updates: We improved the mobile applications NCR capability, allowing drivers to see their own raised NCR's.
