How to configure your Bustle Invoice Template

Configuring your invoice template in Bustle allows you to create professional and consistent invoices for your customers. Follow these steps to customize your invoice templates according to your specific needs:

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Finance Module
Log into your Bustle account and head over to the Finance module.
  2. Select Customer Rates
In the Finance module, click on Customer Rates. This section is where you can manage your invoicing settings and customer rates.
  3. Edit Company Defaults
Locate the "Company Defaults" section and click on the Edit button to open the invoice template settings.
  4. Customize Invoice Template Settings
Refer to the image below to identify key areas for setting up your invoice template:

    • Invoice Package Line Item Description Template: This section allows you to add specific details about the packages in your consignment on the invoice.

      • Show Available Variables: Click the "Show available variables" button to see a list of package-level options that you can include on your customer invoices.
      • Add Variables to Template: To add a variable, copy the desired parameter and paste it into the "Invoice Package Line Item Description Template" field, enclosing it with double curly brackets {{ }}. For example, {{itemWeightTotal}} to display the total weight of a package.
      • Customize Text: You can type any additional text directly into the template field, outside of the curly brackets, to provide context or labels. For example, "Total Weight: {{itemWeightTotal}} kg".
    • Invoice Job Line Item Description Template: This section is for including details about the consignment (job) itself on your invoices.

      • Show Available Variables: Click the "Show available variables" button to display a list of job-level options (parameters) that can be added to your customer invoices.
      • Add Variables to Template: Just like with the Package Line Items, copy the desired parameter from the list and paste it into the "Invoice Job Line Item Description Template" text field, using double curly brackets {{ }} around the parameter. You can include any descriptive text or labels outside of the curly brackets. For example, "Total Weight: {{jobWeight}}" will display the job weight with the text "Total Weight:" preceding it.
  5. Save Your Changes
Once you've customized your templates, click the Update Defaults button at the bottom right of the section to ensure your changes are applied.
  6. View Your Changes
Generate a new invoice (you may need to void one invoice a few times to view the invoice setting changes until you're happy with your settings), go to your Completed Invoices and click "Preview Invoice" on the selected Invoice.
