What is Role and Permission?

Roles: Roles are sets of permissions or rights assigned to users based on their responsibilities, job functions, or levels within an organization. For example, in a company's system, there might be roles such as "Administrator," "Customer Service," "Standard," and "Driver." Each role has associated permissions that determine what actions or operations users assigned to that role can perform within the system.

Permissions: Permissions specify what actions or operations a user with a particular role can perform within a system. These actions could include viewing, creating, editing, or deleting data, accessing certain features or functionalities, or performing administrative tasks. Permissions are typically granular, allowing for fine-tuned control over user access.

Roles and permissions work together to ensure that users have appropriate access to resources and that sensitive information remains secure. By assigning roles to users and defining the permissions associated with each role, organizations can enforce the principle of least privilege, granting users only the access they need to perform their job functions effectively while minimizing the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.
